Government Surplus Auction Software on AuctionWorx
Sealed bids, mixed asset lots and warehouse handover: mapping public-sector disposal onto AuctionWorx.

This page maps AuctionWorx and Systenics features onto government surplus auction software needs and marks the parts that are custom builds.
Enterprise or Events for surplus programs
Systenics’ edition comparison says overstock and surplus liquidators moving large volumes of diverse merchandise continuously lean toward Enterprise, where each listing closes on its own clock. A program that holds scheduled sales with a published date fits Events instead: cataloged lots, staggered closing, CSV batch import, and one-click copying of unsold lots into the next sale.
Asset fields
Agency, asset tag, condition grade and pickup location would be custom fields on the listing. Adding them is customization work.
Sealed-bid and tender submissions
Systenics’ customization guide names government surplus, real estate tenders and confidential corporate disposals as the cases for sealed bids. Submissions stay encrypted in the database until the auction closing time. It is a custom build on top of AuctionWorx, and it can sit beside ordinary timed auctions on the same site.
Bulk intake and pickup logistics
Surplus arrives in batches. The Excel listing plug-in lets a team prepare, validate and publish hundreds of lots from a spreadsheet, with image import.
After the sale, the warehouse management system covers warehouses, racks, QR labels and employee roles. Systenics’ warehouse article says auction warehouses hold one-of-a-kind lots, so it uses unique lot numbers instead of SKUs. It also notes that pickups surge right after a sale; buyers book pickup slots from a calendar and delivery is confirmed by PIN.
Pricing formats for unsold assets
The Dutch auction engine drops a price automatically by a fixed amount, percentage or variable strategy, down to a floor price. You set date ranges, time windows and Daily or Weekly recurrence, and the price freezes when a buyer takes it. Volume Buy lets a seller set tiered unit pricing by quantity, which suits lots of identical items.
Access, payments and hosting
Systenics lists two-factor authentication for the admin control panel, and gated access for dealer tiers and verified members. Its customization guide names Stripe and Authorize.Net for payments. Systenics recommends Microsoft Azure for hosting AuctionWorx, and our hosting and support page is the service side of that.
How a surplus project runs
Systenics works in four steps. A free discovery call produces a ballpark estimate. Requirements and UI/UX mockups tighten it. The build runs in milestones, then is deployed to your AuctionWorx installation and supported through later updates. Systenics describes its packaged approach to surplus stock in its overstock and surplus auction solution.
