Configuring live audio and video streaming in AuctionWorx
Where to deploy it, which encoders work, and how an event runs from scheduling to close.

Live Auctions adds low-latency audio and video streaming to AuctionWorx Events edition, so one sale can run online and in the room at the same time. This guide covers AuctionWorx live streaming setup, from deployment to recording. The product page is Live Auctions add-on for AuctionWorx.
Deployment
It is a white-labeled add-on to RainWorx’s AuctionWorx. You can deploy it on your own servers or in the cloud close to your clients’ servers, which is how it keeps video and audio in real time. It only works with the Events edition.
Streaming and encoders
- Full HD, with no bitrate or resolution restrictions
- Latency of 500ms or less
- Adaptive streaming, so each viewer gets video that fits their bandwidth
- Streams to 1000+ online users on desktop and mobile
- Multi-channel setup, with audio-only mode and video independent
- Recording of broadcasts, which you can share for later viewing
For encoders, OBS Studio, Wirecast and similar legacy streaming software work, and modern smartphones can capture the video without specialized equipment.
Scheduling and the offline team
The seller plans and runs the event live, sets the date and time, and assigns the team members who handle offline activity. Systenics will also help get live auctions scheduled. The offline team has tools to manage the auction during the event, and the auctioneer gets a dedicated screen for tracking bids and seeing who is winning.
Running the event
The recorder starts the stream. The offline team manages offline bids while online bidders bid through AuctionWorx. To finish, the team manager stops the event, the recorder stops the recording, and the event is closed.
Put as a run sheet:
- Create the event and pick its date and time.
- Assign the offline team and a team manager.
- Set up the recorder and the encoder you will use.
- Start the stream. The recorder begins, the auctioneer works from the dedicated bid-tracking screen, and the offline team enters offline bids.
- Stop streaming. The team manager ends the event, the recorder stops, and the event closes.
Who it’s for
The product is built for clients who want to hold online and offline live auctions at once, such as a floor sale with remote bidders. Systenics’ comparison of the two AuctionWorx editions is the best guide to which sellers fit. Events edition is the scheduled-sale edition, with lots tied to an event date and staggered closing times, and that post points to the live auctions page for how it works. It lists these sellers as leaning toward Events edition:
- Estate liquidators and benefit fundraisers building a catalog for a single night or weekend. See estate sales and charity auctions.
- Livestock operations following a sale-day calendar with ordered rings and lots. See livestock auctions.
- Real estate auctions marketing a curated portfolio that closes in sequence on auction day. See real estate auctions.
- Antiques and collectibles houses hosting curated monthly auctions, and art sales. See antiques and collectibles and art auctions.
Systenics’ auto-auction marketplace write-up also describes running traditional simulcast live auctions, timed online auctions, or both from one platform. See vehicle auctions.

Pricing and terms
Pricing for Live Auctions is on request: book a discovery call for a quote. Systenics’ general terms apply: one-time purchase, deployment on your AuctionWorx installation included, no subscriptions, and AuctionWorx licenses sold separately by RainWorx. Systenics also says the Live Auctions product took months of latency optimization to support real-time video alongside sub-second bid processing.
